Senior Director, Nvidia AI Technology Centre And AI Nation
Prof Simon See is currently the Solution Architecture and Engineering Director, Chief Solution Architect and Global Head for NVIDIA AI Technology Center, NVIDIA Corporation. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Conventry University, and Universitas Indonesia (UI). In addition, he serves as a distinguished fellow in Fudan University and Adjunct Scientist at A*STAR’s Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC). Previously, Prof See was the Chief Scientific Computing Advisor for BGI (China) and held appointments at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and King-Mong Kung University of Technology (Thailand). Prof See is currently involved in several international computational, mathematical science projects and national AI initiatives. Since March 2018, he servd as a Steering Committee member of NSCC’s flagship High Performance Computing Conference – Supercomputing Asia (SCA). He has recently been appointed as the Executive Director of the ASEAN Applied Research Centre (AARC).
Prof See’s research interests are in the area of High Performance Computing, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computational Science, Applied Mathematics and Simulation Methodology. He has published over 200 papers in these fields and won various awards. Prof See is also a Fellow member of IEEE, member of SIAM, IET, AAAI and on the Advisory Team of AIP (AI Professional Association) and have served as a committee member for more than 50 conferences.
Prof See graduated from the University of Salford (UK) with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Numerical Analysis in 1993. He has been with the company for over 19 years, contributing significantly to the research and development of both organic and inorganic semiconductor lighting solutions. Dr. Lacey has played pivotal roles across multiple regions, including Germany, the USA, and Malaysia, in various leadership capacities spanning engineering, manufacturing, and business. He holds a PhD in Chemistry and Materials Science from the University of Sussex, where he specialized in ultraviolet microscopy. Prior to joining Osram, he worked in organic electronics at Cambridge Display Technology (CDT), a spin-off from the University of Cambridge, where he was instrumental in the company’s rapid growth and eventual IPO. Dr. Lacey has a strong focus on innovation and has contributed extensively to the field of LED technologies, particularly in high-efficiency lighting. His work spans various applications, including street lighting, industrial solid-state lighting, and the development of advanced encapsulation methods for LEDs.
