His current leadership at Nexperia involves spearheading the company’s Wide Band Gap innovation roadmap, including GaN, SiC, and IGBT technologies that are reshaping the future of power electronics.

Prior to joining Nexperia, Merli held the position of Executive Vice President and General Manager of Power Transistors at STMicroelectronics, where he was instrumental in building the company’s reputation as a global leader in power technologies. His diverse portfolio includes innovations in automotive processors, infotainment, RF communications, and the latest breakthroughs in power semiconductors—making him a rare talent whose influence spans both technical depth and commercial impact.
