Peoria, AZ is the place for semiconductor growth and expansion in the southwestern United States.

Peoria is forming a cluster of substrates and advanced packaging companies to support TSMC, Intel, and other major semiconductor chip producers. Amkor Technologies recently selected the FIVE NORTH Tech Park in Vistancia for a new $2B facility. Hyperion, a startup company focusing on advanced packaging, will also be opening a new facility at FIVE NORTH, creating an ecosystem of similar operations that will foster collaboration, innovation, and efficiency in the semiconductor industry.

This ecosystem will expand across north Peoria to other employment centers while promoting standardized interfaces, shared resources and streamlined processes, and accelerating development cycles.  It will also enhance the adaptability of substrates, facilitating the integration of new technologies and enabling the industry to stay secure, sustainable and at the forefront of advancements.

Forming this cluster also facilitates the sharing of water infrastructure and financial resources. Collaborative efforts and shared solutions can lead to improved efficiency, reduced environmental impact and cost-savings for all participants. Sustainable practices enable responsible resource management within the semiconductor industry.

Other benefits of creating a cluster are supply chain efficiency and talent pool stability. The city of Peoria has been intentional and strategic in creating a talent pool starting in middle school/high school by training the core competencies in these correlated industries to build a skilled workforce. In addition, we have a number of engineers attracted to our city that provides a steady workforce.
