Ser Wah Oh
Biography
Dr Oh Ser Wah is currently the General Manager of JoinSilicon Microelectronics, a startup focusing on high-end IC design services in the domains of High-Performance Computing (HPC), AI, 5G&Network and Automotive. Prior to this, he was the Founder and CEO of Whizpace Pte Ltd, an A*STAR Singapore spinoff focusing on long-range wireless communication termed as TV White Space (TVWS), a.k.a. Super Wi-Fi. Before founding Whizpace, he held various positions with the A*STAR Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) such as Head White Space Communications Department, Advisor and Head Smart Energy & Environment Department, Co-Director I2R-Singapore Power Joint Lab and Deputy Director Strategic Planning Office. He was also in charge of coordinating Smart Nation activities and setup of Satellite Department within the institute. Ser Wah sat in the 9-member senior management team of I2R overseeing research direction and activities of the 650-strong institute. Prior to that, he was a Technical Manager at STMicroelectronics in charges of teams in Singapore and Beijing.
Ser Wah holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Nanyang Technological University and is the top Nanyang MBA Graduate 2009/2010.
